Tea Leaves or Tea Bags?

At most places in the West where people buy tea, the leaves are sold in small baggies. Tea bags are steeped in water to make tea. How different it is here in the East, where we put the leaves directly in water.

Sometimes, though, loose tea leaves can end up in your mouth, making it a bit difficult to drink. Some clever entrepreneurs have even developed tea cups that come with a screen to keep the tea leaves in the cup (and out of my mouth!).

Personally, I think tea bags are kind of unnatural and synthetic, so I prefer loose leaf tea. Loose leaf teas also give you more tea and infusions, while using fewer leaves, so it’s more economical.

And my favorite tea? Definitely black tea.
